Nothing says “freedom” like driving a 2022 Jeep Wrangler down a deserted trail with the top down and adventure just around the next bend. The iconic off-roader looks like a rugged Jeep from World War II from the outside. However, it’s full of modern features like a touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, and an eight-speaker stereo.
Upscale trims can be downright luxurious, with leather seats, ambient lighting, in-dash navigation, Wi-Fi, and a soft top that can be opened and closed with a button. Traditional two-door models of the Wrangler are available. However, buyers who want more space for passengers and cargo should look at the four-door Unlimited models. There are a lot of different powertrains, like a plug-in hybrid and a 6.4-liter V-8, but the Wrangler always comes with four-wheel drive, no matter what engine is under the hood.
There are a lot of features that make the Wrangler more useful and let buyers customize it to their exact needs. The Wrangler can compete with rivals like the Toyota 4Runner and the Ford Bronco because it has a wide range of models and features.

What does a 2022 Jeep Wrangler have?
In 2022, the Willys model with the Xtreme Recon package was added to the Wrangler line-up. This trim comes with 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, a 1.5-inch suspension lift, better brakes, and a lot of blacked-out exterior trim and badges. The 3.6-liter V-6 engine comes standard on the Willys Xtreme Recon model. It is only available in the four-door Unlimited body style.
The engine, transmission, and performance of the Jeep Wrangler
The standard 285-hp 3.6-liter V-6 from the last-generation Wrangler is in the new JL. It can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic that shifts smoothly. Optionally, you can get a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that works with an electric motor. This gives you more power at low speeds.
In addition to the standard V-6 and optional four-cylinder hybrid, the Jeep Wrangler can come with a 3.6-liter V-6 with a similar hybrid assist, a 3.0-liter diesel V-6, a new 375-hp plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain, and a 6.4-liter V-8. Wranglers are made to go off-road, so they all come with standard part-time four-wheel drive. This system is controlled by a lever on the center console.
In our tests, a base two-door Wrangler Sport with a V-6 and a six-speed manual transmission went from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. A well-equipped four-door Sahara model with an automatic transmission did the same thing in 6.8 seconds. With the four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, the Sahara with four doors went from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds.
In our tests, the Rubicon model and the High Tide model, which both have more weight because they have heavier-duty off-roading equipment, were not as fast as the others. The Wrangler JL is much better than its predecessor based on how it did on our test track, but in some ways, it’s about the same as its competitors.
Even though its handling has gotten better, it still drives like a truck compared to the SUVs and pickups of today. The four-door car has a smooth enough ride on rough roads, but the two cars we tested had different stopping distances.

Inside a Jeep Wrangler
It’s a cozy, well-designed space inside that will last for a long time. Everything that should feel solid, like grab handles, and all of the controls (dials, knobs, and switches) are easy to find. More importantly, they are easy to use quickly while traveling on any terrain. There are lots of clever ideas, like tensioned net pockets on the doors and seatbacks and deep small storage spaces with textured, grippable bases. In the center console up front, there are USB ports, a 230V power outlet, air vents that blow in different directions, and cup holders. When all of the seats are in use, the back cargo space is pretty small and can only fit a few bags.
Jeep Wrangler Seats
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon has two doors and a short wheelbase. It has four seats made of leather with red stitching and red seat belts. There is heat in the front seats.
Boot Space in a Jeep Wrangler
The trunk space of the Jeep Wrangler SUV is 898 Liters.
Jeep Wrangler Speed
Jeep thinks that its two-door SWB Wrangler Rubicon Recon can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
